Sigh…..the girls have been back to school for almost three days now. I’ve already started counting down the days until next summer. Don’t get me wrong – I’m doing my best to live in the moment and enjoy this season, but there’s no doubt about it, summer if my favorite time of year; I like having my girls home with me.
We spent the last weekend before school starts shopping for shoes for both girls and some clothes for Abigail. On Sunday, after church, I spent a ridiculous amount of time planning our weekly menu and going to the grocery store. I’m trying to find ways to make it easier and if I have any luck, I’ll share whatever works with you! So, after dinner and a walk around our neighborhood, Steve & I surprised the girls with a silly string fight. The girls had picked out the silly string several months ago and every time they asked if they could play with it, I put them off, so they were thrilled and squealing when Steve and I came out of the house shooting the string at them.
I wish we’d had more time this summer to do things like this. I spent way too much time working in July and then August just got away from me. But, we’re going to have fun during the school year. There are going to be many more nights like this if I can at all help it!
