Quiet {December Daily 2012 | Day 26}

It’s a little after 9:00 a.m.Amazingly, the girls are still sleeping.  I’ve been able to knock out a good bit of work.  Early this morning, I followed Steve to the Honda dealership to fix the lock on the van.  It seemed strange to be out and about so early on the morning after Christmas.  The street seemed cold and quiet, as if everyone else was still at home, not yet ready to move on from Christmas Day.  I am feeling a little melancholy, like I always do on the 26th of December.  But, there is much to look forward to in the days and weeks ahead.  My sister and her family are still here; my grandfather and cousin will come to visit tomorrow.  I am on vacation next week and am really looking forward to some downtime with the girls with lots of baking and crafts.  For now, I’m going to enjoy this still, quiet time before all the activity starts up again.

This is probably my favorite picture from yesterday.

There are not enough words in my vocabulary to explain how much I love this little girl.  She is growing up so very quickly, but she is still very much a little kid.  She finds joy in everything and more often than not, that joy is contagious.  It is difficult to be sad when you’re around her!
